Men's Section Welcome Letter
It’s that time of year again. It’s the time of the year when we open the door every morning just hoping to see some green grass instead of that ugly white stuff. I know most of you are as excited as I am to get the golf season started.
Last year was a great year for the men’s section with record turn outs in the men’s events and at men’s nights. I would like to thank Mikel Anello and Labatt’s for sponsoring our tournaments and men’s nights last year. I am also pleased to announce that this year he again will be the primary men’s section sponsor. Here are the dates for those tournaments this year:
- Opening Stag May 23rd
- Pot of Gold June 20th
- President 2-Ball September 5th
- Closing Stag September 26th
I look forward to seeing all of you at these events. These events are why I love the men’s membership at the NBGCC. Not only is the attendance great, but they’re always a great time. From the fun on the course, to the great food from A La Cantina, to the certain events that transpire well into the evenings. Mark these dates on your calendar now so you don’t miss out.
Men’s night will continue as always on Thursday nights with a variety of fun formats every week, and fantastic weekly sponsors. I’d like to remind you that without these weekly sponsors that the prizes at the men’s nights would not nearly be as great. I would like to thank all of them for their continued support of the men’s night. Let’s in turn support them in our daily lives. For those of you who enjoy putting your name in a certain draw on men’s night with hopes of finding something and winning something, don’t you worry that will of course return this year as well. I will see all of you at the first men’s night tentatively scheduled for May 7th.
In addition the fun events at the NBGCC there are some men’s section events more focused on the golf. Once again the year long match play will take place with handicapped and non-handicapped divisions. Please call the proshop or email me to enter.
Lastly, I’d like to extend huge congratulations to our 2014 Men’s Club Champion Kevin Roche. Hit the range and practice greens early this year if you want your name on the trophy because in addition to Kevin there are many talented players in our men’s section. You’ll all have a chance to take down the champ at this year club championship schedule for August 15-16, and 22-23 for match play.
