The North Bay Golf and Country Club is excited to get the 2018 golf season started. With milder temperatures and the “Masters” around the corner, I know each and every member is starting to come down with “Golf Fever”.
The 2018 Board of Directors’ are once again committed to providing the membership with new and exciting changes. I have asked our Board members to contribute to this letter with their insight for the 2018 golf season.
Katie Laporte (Tournament and Play)
Our Senior Management has been busy preparing for the 2018 golf season. We look forward to once again providing a wide range of golf events for each and every section. Please refer to your course booklet or our website for upcoming events. For up to minute news and scheduling we ask that each member follow us on twitter@NorthBayGCC. Our goal for 2018 is to make each member’s daily golfing experience most enjoyable. The professional staff will continue to enforce our strict Pace of Play policy of 4 hours and 1 minute. We encourage all of our membership to jump on board our Adopt-A-Hole program to step up our etiquette game. As the premier private golf facility in Northern Ontario we take great pride in respecting our fellow golfers and our excellent conditions.
Wayne Malcolm (Membership)
Our membership saw a much needed albeit slight increase last year. In an effort to further increase our numbers, the board passed a motion to waive the initiation fee for the 2018 golf season. In conjunction with a targeted campaign by Jeff Mancini. I am thrilled to announce that we have 21 new members committed to join already.
Ben Hong (House)
We are excited to announce the return of Len Hummel and A La Cantina for the 2018 golf season. We look forward to enjoying the variety of options with our new menu.
PLEASE NOTE OUR BRAND NEW OPENING HOURS
Monday to Friday 11:00 a.m. (Window will be open at 9:00 a.m.)
Saturday & Sunday 9:00 a.m.
We would like to thank the generosity of Rheal & Jocyleine Pellerin for the annual touch ups around the clubhouse.
Jordie Leggett (Course)
Robert Clark and his staff are eagerly awaiting the start of the 2018 golf season. This will mark our first full season with our brand new #2 tee decks and #3 green surface. The board remains committed to continually improving the golf course and will look to more professional direction for future alterations.
Here is to hoping we get to enjoy a warm and slightly dryer spring and summer.
Roger Marleau (Discipline)
As reported at the annual meeting of 2017, there were no discipline issues brought to the board last year-we trust that will continue into 2018-remember that golf is a “gentleman’s “ game (or should I say , “gentle person’s “ game)-please conduct yourself accordingly when at the NBGCC. Enjoy your 2018 season!
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the hard work of our Board of Directors’ and their contributions to the future vision of our great golf club.
Please do not forget about our important upcoming events. Members’ Open House Thursday April 26th 6pm-9pm and Corporate Night TBA once we are in full swing. Once again welcome, have fun and play often.
